I'm not sure. I've never used the DDP> Hopefully someone will be able to answer this question.

The snack value for the DDP is limited to items costing less than $4.00

Something to note about the snack credits at CSR...we were just there this weekend on the QSDP (first time using it) and while pastries throughout WDW were generally covered, at Rix Cafe, only the Biscuit counted. My brother (who's not as "into" Disney as I am) was getting breakfast and wound up paying out of pocket for it because he didn't ask first. So just make sure that you ask if it counts before you request the actual pastry!

kat--that's really disappointing about the snack credits and Cafe Rix. When we were there last August, we were able to use our dining plan snack credits there on the chocolate chip cookies. I'm now sold that they're the very best on WDW property! I loved them so much that on our last day we went in Cafe Rix and used up our remaining snack credits on the cookies (8!) and brought them on the plane ride back for us and to share a taste of Disney with family at home! I'll be really bummed if I can't use my credits on the cookies this year. :(

You'll have to let us know if you can still get the cookies. They must have the same cookies at the Pepper Market.

You know...I didn't see any cookies out at breakfast time. Perhaps they put them out later? All of the things that were a snack credit were marked with a little white sticker with the word "snack" on them. When my brother went to get breakfast, he just assumed all the pastries were snacks (might be my fault as I assumed things would be snacks there!) and didn't look. So you can definitely tell pretty easily. I'd still give it a gander and see if they put them out later in the day.

On the Dining Plan brochure, there is an icon that designates a snack and will appear next to any item on a menu, menu board, or cart. Any CM will be happy to point out what the icon looks like and it makes it very easy to tell what is a snack. Luckily, water, apples, mickey bars, still qualify!!!! Apples are great because they are prepackaged fluids for small people with a sweet tooth. A mickey bar will usually make you more thirsty than help assuage thirst. Remember that water at the refrigerated fountains are filtered and the stream is just perfect for refilling those expensive water bottles.

The Rix Cafe was very, very strict about the snacks on the dining plan while we were there, as was Pepper Market. At both, only themuffins, fruit and yogurt were available, and Rix Cafe had some cookies. None of the yummy cakes or pastries was considered a snack....

I believe that snacks have to be items under $4.00. Most of the goodies at Cafe Rix are over that.

Yep, most of the cakes and treats at Rix Cafe and Pepper Market were $4.25. If you really want to max your snack credits, hit Starring Rolls at DHS. The peanut butter cup cupcake and chocolate Butterfinger cupcake are BOTH available as snacks. Plus, you can hop a quick ride on Tower of Terror while your DH keeps an eye on your DS at the Dig Site...not that I know from experience..... Wink
