PostSubject: Behind the Seeds Tour   Wed May 18, 2011 10:57 am

Years ago, Disney had a glimpse at the Behind the Seeds Tour for free. I think it was during the F&G show, but it could have been F&W?? It was around 10 years ago. Our now 17 year old was about the same age as our now 7 year old. It was a really neat tour, but we never did it again, until recently.

It's a very nice tour and I'm so glad we did it again! As with all Disney tours, it was a little pricey, but the wealth of information and the time the guide took to explain everything and answer questions made it seem well worth it!

We signed up for the tour 45 minutes in advance. There were only 6 people total on the tour, making it the perfect size!

Explaining about pest control and plant damage prevention.

Explaining about Mickey Gardens.

A redwood tree that was grown using the same technique as the Mickey Gardens.

Lady Bug release

A lady bug that didn't want to be released.

Inside of the irrigation system

My husband doesn't need any ideas, especially with regards to fish tanks. We have soooooo many fish tanks in our house. But now he wants to do hydroponic gardening with a fish tank, as seen below. Notice the refrigerator beside the fish tank. They had yummy hybrid cucumbers in there. The skin of the cucumber is thinner. It made it really nice to eat.

I've seen Mickey shape pumpkins in the Land, but I had never seen Mickey shaped cucumbers. They have a mold for them as well.
