PostSubject: Park Hopper Passes- Necessity or Just Added Benefit   Fri Aug 26, 2011 3:40 pm

So I am now only 16 days away from arrival at CSR. In the numerous trips I have taken before to WDW, we always had the park hopper option. This time my wife insisted we don't get the PH. When booking our dining plan meals, I checked the park schedules so we would be eating at the parks that had extended hours.

Now that it is getting closer, I wonder if it was smart or should I change it. What is everyone's opinion? Has anyone not bought the PH option and survived? We will be there 6 days so I don't think I will necessarily "miss out" on any time in the parks.

I appreciate everyone's input and feedback!

My family likes the option to be able to go to multiply parks in a given day but I feel that you could easily go without on a trip especially since you have plans for later in the evening. Even if you take a break, going back to the same park at night works too. If it frees up money for other things on the trip or lowers your over all cost, that works.

Thanks. I was thinking about the numerous things $100 could go to. Have you ever attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Not sure if that would be worth it. My daughter probably won't be getting dressed up unless she goes to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

I, personally, would not ever be without the hopper option. Even during "off" season, I like the flexibility of being able to drop back, punt, and head to another park, especially with kids. Getting away from a park that is crowded, too hot, whatever...I think the hopper has saved us from meltdowns many times. We have done the Halloween party, and it is a lot of fun, dressed up or not. I think it is a little pricey, but again, a lot of fun.

We had it once and didn't really use it, and we've always done 6 days- well five and a half really- two at MK, one each at AK and DHS, and one full at Ecpot then we stay at Epcot and the last day till around 3 then drive home. We always go during off season, and when it's not hot so we don't need to take breaks to go back to the room. My kids have never had a problem or complained about staying the whole day in one park, so it doesn't seem neccessary to me. Plus, even with our own car, I feel the travel time is a waste for us.
This trip we're doing the military discount tickets, which are 4 day hoppers. Arrival day we're doing MVMCP so it'll give us an extra "day" at MK, and we'll hop to Epcot and MK two other nights for emh to give us more park time. We have one night planned for hanging at the resort. The last half day we'll spend at DTD before we drive home.

Yes, I did MNSSHP once back in 2002 and it was awesome! I would recommend it especially if you have kids. Its a good time and you get to wear a costume too!

For our family hoppers are a neccesity. We booked one trip without it, and by the 2nd day there we had decided we needed to add it on. We love seeing the night time shows, so we always end our days at either MK or Epcot, which means if we ever want to do AK or DHS we have to have hoppers Smile Plus, for us it is great if we get to a park and it's packed, we like being able to switch to a less crowded park.

The last few trips I have done both Hopper and Non Park Hopper tickets.
The DW and myself found it alot less stressful to just spend the entire day in one park. My Dkids could care less (10 & 12).

As for the MNSSHP....I would highly recommend it. We had a blast and we all dressed up. No fancy costumes necessary!

I always get them and see them as an advantage with young children. We can schedule around peak times at certain parks. We also do a lot of meals at Epcot which won't hold my 4 yr olds interest all day. I don't feel bad grabbing a few hours there when he had fun at MK all morning.
