Tons of rain here and lost a tree in front of the house. Just a small one though.

Not as bad here as they portrayed. We never lost power. The roof leaked as usual but I was ready with a storage tub under it. The rear corner of the basement just started getting water this am but we caught it before it got too bad.
Some part of our town are severly under water. Favorite restaurant here which is next to the Rockaway River has 5 feet of aqua in the basement. friends house has about 3 feet of water in rear and side yards. Nearby Denville is shut down in alot of the areas.

We were to leave for the Jersey Shore (Long Beach Island) on Saturday. Just got the all clear from the condo owner and he said the Island never lost power and we are cleared to head down tomorrow!

Glad you are all ok.

Doc, that's great that you get to the shore as planned!

My niece didn't fare as well. A tree fell on her home. Good thing her husband works in the construction business!

We got a direct hit here on coast of NC-Atlantic Beach/Emerald Isle area. Horrible flooding and downed trees, praying this is the end of hurricanes for one season

Did you make it through without a lot of damage?

Glad to hear none of ya'll were hurt or had too bad of damage! We just had some rain and wind on Fri. and schools were either closed or on a early release schedule in the Charleston area.
In a storm not related to Irene that came through our area yesterday, three power lines went down right outside my neighborhood, casuing us to lose power of course, but it also backed up the roads for a long time so I was stuck trying to get home from work, my youngest was stuck on the bus, and my oldest was stuck trying to get home from band practice. Two huge limbs broke off the crepe myrtle in our front yard that we had to clean up (and thankfully didn't hit houses or vehicles), and our neighbor a few houses down had lightning hit his big pear tree, split it in half, and he had to have it removed today. can't wait to see what this next storm is going to do. Sad
