Can you believe we are about to get 6-10 inches of snow in CT? It was 70º last weekend. Oh well, just 5 more days!!

Sitting here in the dark. Lost power about 3 hours ago. About six inches of snow so far.

Still no power, looking like it could be up to a week. Over 800,000 without power. We got about a foot of snow.

1/2 our town is without power. We only flickered. hopefully it melts soon. School has already been canceled for tomorrow. Our Main streets arent safe for trick or treating.

CSR can't come soon enough.

We are a town that seldom loses power. We did even lose it during Hurrican Irene. We flickered 3 times but the last time it was out for good and is still out. It looks like a major tornado came through and knocked down tons of trees and large branches. 3 houses on our street alone lost their connections to the utility poles. We probably won't have power when we leave but I'll have my in laws check on the house. I had to take Nikki back to Keene on Sunday because she came home Friday night to surprise me for my birthday. I was so worroed I wouldn't be able to get her back to school but the highways were fine and it was such a beautiful day you would think nothing at all happened the day before.

Such a freak storm in October. This will be one to remember.

Buzz, glad you are safe and that you got Nikki back safely. Have you gotten power back yet? We have friends in Wolcott, CT. Their power went out on Sunday night and came back on late last night; they went and spent the night with friends on Sunday because they have a two-month old baby and couldn't take the chances with the power out, etc.

Day 4 of no power. I booked a hotel for tomorrow night at the airport. I just hope its back by the time we return from WDW. Wolcott is the neighboring town but did not get hit as bad as us.

It sure will! Our town is expected to have full power restored by Sunday but some towns may take up to two weeks. Right now we are at 68% still without power in our town, us included. We have a kerosene heater and our iPhones so it hasn't been terrible. I've been cooking up a storm in the grill trying to empty our fridge and freezer before everything spoils. We had to toss some things because they won't last until we get back but luckily we were letting in the process of emptying the fridge because of vacation.

In all my years in CT, this is the worst power situation we've ever encountered. but as long as everyone is safe, that's all that matters to me.
