PostSubject: Preferred Room vs a regular room   Tue Mar 06, 2012 10:39 am

We are going to the World for one weekend and one day only in the park.

First time staying at CSR.

Our flight arrives at 4:40pm and we are using Magical Express.

Our plans are-- dinner at Pepper Market
Swimming at the Dig for Saturday evening.
Sunday- Going to Magic Kingdom for rope drop- and staying til after the parade. Coming back to the resort for a nap and head back tot he park around 7pm.

Back to the room when the park closes at 1am.

Breakfast on Monday at the Pepper Market
Bell Services to drop off luggage
Bus will pick us up around 11:30 for a 2:30 flight.

with all that being said-- to book a preferred room will cost us 56.00

is it worth it?

what should we request if not?

last time onsite none of our requests were met. and we had just a little bit of requests.

welcome to the CSR Forum!

The $56 cost doesn't seem like a lot if that is the total. The preferred rooms are not my favorite section. They are casita 1, 2, and 3. I'm more of a cabana fan though there is no guarantee to get a cabana room either.

I guess it comes down to what you want to be closer to, the pool and buses or the main building. I prefer to be close to the pool and bus because I don't use refillable mugs and I don't eat many meals at the resort. Our family doesn't mind walking either. For the preferred rooms, there really isn't a close bus stop. Depending where you end up, you can use bus stop #2 (first) or bus stop #1 (last). You don't say where you will be eating on Sunday but I assume at MK. If it was me, I would request cabana 8a or any cabana building. 8a is steps from the pool and bus stop #4. Since you will be going to MK at rope drop, the buses do not fill up that early in the morning. It's a .31 mile walk to the main building from cabana 8a versus .16 from casita 3.

In the end, i wouldn't stress about it so much. You won't be there long enough for it to be a huge bother either way. Just enjoy your trip.

Last time we just requested not parking lot view and upper room, and did not pay for the "preferred room." We didn't get upper floor but instead got a corner room which was better, and it was still quiet. We were placed in 8A, which as Buzz said is WONDERFUL! We were steps from the dig site, and it's a very nice peaceful walk to the main building and the Pepper Market. We were also close to the bus stop. The great thing is that there's actually 4 bus stops, so it seems like you're close to one no matter where your room is. For what your trip entails, I would not personally request a preferred room. Good luck and have fun!

Nice. I will keep my questions here.

i did not stay at CSR for our weekend trip- we were given a 40% off code so we used it to upgrade to the contemporary since it was walking distance to the magic kingdom.

But I am back now trying to plan for december 2013.

I have been to disney three times on property. Each time my requests were not given. I am aware they are just requests. But sheesh---give me something.

My last vist--my request was to be as close to the laundry room as possible. They stuck me so far out---lol not even in the same building.

the time before that --we requested to be in a low part of the building as close to an elevator as possible. Our 4 rooms were all over the resort (POP) and all on high floors so far away from an elevator--but close to stairs--lol

took almost an hour to fix that-- gave us the 50's top floor over by the stairs

this time I am kind of afraid to make request--so looking to pay the difference and get a preferred room but with my luck-- would probably get casita 2

Definitely make a request at time of booking. Then I would follow up with a fax 10 days prior to arrival.

When I made our reservation in July, I booked a water view room because I just really don't want to look at a parking lot. Smile I booked online so I wasn't able to request a specific building. When is the right time to do that? Would like the cabanas...am I right that they are only two stories high? (imagining a picture of them in my mind) Could I request upper level?

You should add your request at time of booking your room but since you already booked, I would call back and let them know what you are looking for. They try so hard to honor everyone's request. They get thousands of request a day. Now with the new LILO system they can add attributes and the resort knows what you want, or better yet, LILO blocks it on her own when possible.

Preferred rooms are closest to the main building, bus stations and everything including shopping and dining. In the Disney World's pool noise increase interrupt in rooms but preferred rooms are not near to the pool so you will not be irritate with noise and feel relax.

Also, if a convention adds certain room requests to their contract, those requests have to be met first.
