PostSubject: Room location   Thu Oct 01, 2009 5:38 pm

Very excited about our 1st stay at CSR, 10-29 / 10-31. It will be DH & me, both around 55, but very young at heart! We'll have a car, but like to use the buses most of the time.

I'd love suggestions on a room location for us. Either Castita or Cabana area. Ranchos doesn't look like my cup of tea, and it seems really far away from everything.

Thanks

Check out this link.

ROOM SUGGESTIONS

My favorite is the cabana section. Any building will do.

Although I think everyone ends up with their own personal favorite, it's such a beautiful resort, you really can't go wrong.

There are going to be 5+ conventions going on during our stay... (staggered throughout the 9 days we're at CSR)...

My question would be.... Is it reasonable to ask for a room in Casitas 4 or 5 (to be near bus stop #2) or would it be more logical to ask for Cabanas 8a or 8b (to be near bus stop #4).... given that there will be a number of conventions happening. The other part of the question would be that it's just my daughter and I traveling and I want to feel safe coming back to the resort after theme park closing (hear: don't want to have run-ins with rowdy conventioneers...) which would be a better/more well lit area?

Thanks.

If you don't mind walking, rancho 7b is a nice, secluded location with a quiet pool. It is very close to bus stop #4 and the main pool with a 7-10 min walk to the main building. Cabana 8a is very close to bus stop #4 and the main pool with a 5-7 mins walk to the main building. Each cabana building after that gets closer to the main building but still within a nice walk to the bus stop and main pool.

If you are guests that like to get to the parks for rope drop, then which bus stop you are close to is not as important. We are rope drop guests and I usually head to bus stop #1 about 7 to 7:15am and never encounter any problems. If you like to sleep in a bit, some buses can fill up by the time you get to bus stop #1 (which is the last stop for park buses).

With that many small conventions going on, it may benefit you because they will be busy working and not on the buses or at the main pool.

Have a great trip!!

Thank you for all the suggestions. Buzz, thank for the link for the room suggestions, very informative. Since we are a couple, I think I will ask for Castita 4 or 5 when we arrive. Or do you think I should have my agent fax a request? I'm sure we will be happy with whatever we receive. Who knows, maybe since it's our first visit to CSR, we will be sprinkled with Pixie Dust

yeah, 28 more days until we arrive!!! Can't wait.

Thanks again everyone

At a minimum, I would add a room request to my reservation. Faxing is up to you.

We are staying just now in Cabanas 8A which is ideal for us and would be a good choice I think. It's very close to bus stop 4, right next to the main pool and with the quiet pools at Cabanas and Ranchos just a short walk away. We find the walk over to El Centro pleasant and you can also use the bus to there.
