PostSubject: We're booked! Pre- Christmas WDW trip!   Fri Jan 11, 2013 9:07 am

It's official- we're going to WDW! After careful consideration of budget (hey, we've gotta think college soon), schedules (when we can all be off together), and time of year (we like to go when it's not crowded or hot) DH and I decided on Nov. 5-11 at, where else, CSR! I was able to book last night and am soooo excited!
We want this vacation to be fun yet relaxing. The plan is to drive down the first day, arriving around 2-3, check in and maybe take a swim, then spend the evening at the Boardwalk. We've never been so any advice would be great!
We're getting four day park hoppers. So for two days we'll do parks, then a down day (never done this either), then two more park days. On the down day we plan to enjoy the resort, DTD, maybe mini golf, and some other resorts. On departure day we'll probably visit DTD for lunch and shopping before we leave WDW at 2 or 3.
Now we have to figure what days to do what parks and start thinking about adr's. I know it's almost 10 months away, but I can't wait!

Those were my exact dates 2 years ago. Great time to go. Hopefully you can make it to Osborne lights. It starts around that time, 9th or 10th I believe.

PostSubject: Slight change in plans...   Wed Jul 24, 2013 7:56 pm

So I've been waiting to see if they'd extend the military discount, but in the past few years it's been announced in Aug. Apparently, they released it this Mon., but I just found out today. I called and couldn't get in at CSR:affraid: Our options were Pop, Caribbean Beach, or Animal Kingdom Lodge. Pop was less, Caribbean Beach would have been the same, but full beds, and AKL was more. Actually, I was only calculating 30% off, but for mods and deluxes it's 40%. After discussing with DH, we decided to upgrade and go with AKL! It's just a standard room, but we figure we won't really get the opportunity to all stay here again, so it'll be a surprise for the boys! Of course, we'll still stop over at CSR at least for breakfast and/or lunch. Our "home" is still CSR, but it'll be fun to try something new!

AKL was nicely decorated when we visited a few years back in December. You'll have a great time! Its tough to pass up the 40% off.

Down to one month- 31 days! I don't count today since it already started Very Happy

I'm off today so I'll be house cleaning and pre-planning and packing in my head. Besides school and work we have band, baseball, Scouts, and church stuff going on every day from now till then, so I gotta squeeze in where I can. I customized our magic bands on DME and they should be on there way soon. Our military tickets are ordered and should be back in about two weeks, so then I can link them to the mb's. Still not sure if I want to use fp+- maybe just for parades or shows? I'm so excited and ready for this trip! Our plans have changed slightly, but here's what I'm thinking:

Sat. Nov. 2
drop the dogs at the kennel
I'm going w/DS & band 2 hours away to state pre-lims competition
DH asst. coaches other DS baseball game
If band makes finals, DH & DS drive to watch, and we all get home late
If not, just DS & I get home late

Sun. Nov. 3
Get up at a reasonable time, have breakfast, get on the road
Stop for lunch on road
Arrive at AKL in afternoon & check-in
explore resort
Dinner @ Boma at 6:05pm (never done dinner here)
Maybe Boardwalk and then Electric Water Pagaent from Poly @ 9pm

Mon. Nov. 4
Bf @ Mara
DHS day 9-7
Lunch @ Sci-Fi 12:20pm
Dinner @ Fairfaxe Fare
Fantasmic! @ 7pm
emh till 9pm

Tues. Nov. 5
drive to OKW & bf @ Olivia's 8:30am
check out resort and maybe a couple others in the area like POR and SSR
drive back to AKL and change
bus to Blizzard Beach- eat lunch while there & play as long as we like
back to AKL to change
DTD for DQ
Dinner @ Planet Hollywood 7pm
more DQ

Wed. Nov. 6
bf @ Mara
Epcot day 9-9
Food & Wine "eat around the world" for lunch & dinner
emh 9-11pm

Thur. Nov. 7
MK emh 8-9am (we'll see if we're actually up for this)
hop on monorail for bf @ Contempo Cafe & quick check out resort
MK all day 9-9
Lunch @ Tony's 12:40pm
Dinner @ Pecos Bill's

Fri. Nov. 8
Resort hop day
Bf @ Gasparilla Island Grille at Grand Floridian & check out resort
Lunch @ Kona Cafe at Poly 12:40pm & check out resort
in between other resorts we've never been to: AoA, POR, Ft. Wilderness, Caribbean Beach, Yacht & Beach Clubs, Swan & Dolphin, & SSR
mini golf at Winter Summerland
Dinner @ Whispering Canyon at WL 6:50pm
DTD & DQ

Sat. Nov. 9
Bf @ Boma 7:45am
AK day till 5pm
Lunch @ Yak & Yeti cs
MK in the evening
Dinner @ Be Our Guest 7pm
emh till 11pm

Sun. Nov. 10
Bf @ Mara or use whatever credits left on ddp or just pay oop
maybe quick swim, last look at animals, pack and out by 11am
check out any resorts we haven't yet
lunch at Pepper Market before we head home

I have planned checking out all the resorts we've never been to in between the trip (some in conjunction with meals) but we can always do that on the way out of town Sun. We generally go to DTD before leaving, but last trip the Festival of the Masters was that Sun., and is again this trip, and it was utter chaos- no parking spaces, extremely crowded, and just not a good last day at WDW. So we may choose to hang at AKL and swim or watch animals during our down time in the week. We'll see!

We did it on our Jan. trip one year and last trip 2011, where we did MVMCP too. We're going a week earlier this year, so I'm not sure if it'll be there when we go.

 Single digit dancing!

I have to work Sun. for someone else so I'll be off Thur. Halloween while DH will be at work and boys at school. This will give me time to clean the house, finish the packing we'll start Wed. night, and run to the store for any last minute stuff. Can't wait!
