PostSubject: Dining Plan   Tue Feb 16, 2010 12:14 pm

We are coming in August for one week-2 adults, 2 kids, ages 13 and 10. Our 10 yr old is literally on the extreme of pickiness when it comes to eating-he ONLY eats chix strips 365 days a yr. No other meats, no veggies, pasta, bread, nothing-except for the usual snacks of Goldfish, etc. So far we are not doing the dining plan-I have researched most of the restaurants and there are very few besides Wolfgang's counter service and Rainforest that we can all 4 eat because of this. Firstly, does anyone think any restaurant with chix strips only on kids menu will give us a problem since he is 10 and the kids menus go to age 9? Secondly, in general we would like to split meals, etc and have a couple of nights of splurging-anyone have an opinion if we can do this reasonably and stay below the cost of the dining plan? Sorry, I know this has been a long one-I apologize!
Thanks so much!

When we visited CSR with family, my nephew was the same way. He wouldn't eat anything except for plain pasta with butter. He too was very picky.

We've never used the DDP. My wife has ordered chicken fingers off the kids menu so they shouldn't say anything about a 10 yr old doing it.

Our family splits meals all the time. Sometimes the meals are just too much food so we split items instead of each of us getting a big meal.

Wow, you have never used the dining plan? I guess that makes me feel much better, I am assuming that you have been there several times. Not only does it seem expensive, but also a lot of food for each person. I happened upon this website by accident last night and have already gotten so much info on CSR and Disney in general. I feel much more at ease about staying at CSR-I have read horrible reviews but really wanted to stay here.
Thanks again so much

You are not alone. I agree with you, the DDP is way too much food. We like to nibble throughout the day instead of sitting down for three meals. If we have one big meal (or buffet), that might be our only one for the day other than snacks.

This is my biggest issue right now...............I didn't do the dining plan because my Girlfriend and I aren't big eaters (appetizers, for the most part) but I have my 2 kids (11 & 16). I'm doing 4 TS meals in 6 days and winging it the rest....................do you think I'm better off not getting the DDP?

I have done both the 1 table service/1 counter service and the 2 counter service meal plans. I found with 2 kids 9 and 11 the 2 counter services works best. With this you also get 2 snacks per person and the mug. I added up all the receipts. The plan I think broke down to about 600 for the 4 of us. The receipts added up to 800. I find my kids need to get a small meal to recharge, otherwise they become beasts. Just my opinion though.

Too much food??? No such thing...

By the way, most of the WDW eateries do have chicken strips. My DS went through a "picky" phase that coincided with our first trip to WDW, and we saw LOTS of chicken strips/fingers/nuggets. Shouldn't be a problem

Don't stress too much on the little things. If you over plan too much and something doesn't go as planned, you don't want it to ruin your trip. Its your first time, you won't be able to see and do it all, its just too big and too much. just go and enjoy the magic and have fun!

I wouldn't worry about them being concerned about his age. If he was 14 and you tried to order of the kids menu, it may be a problem, but since he is 10...he should be in the clear. What are they going to do? Card him? lol :lmao2:

PostSubject: childs menu.....   Mon Jun 21, 2010 5:39 pm

If you are 50 and want to order off the childs menu with the DDP, that's fine. It becomes a problem when a 5 year old wants to order from the adult menu...they will charge an adult table service point.
