For information specific to individual Resorts, please call Walt Disney World Resort Special Requests at 407-939-7807 (Option 1).  Even if you booked through a travel agent...you can still call the number.

Requests for disabled guest guide brochures prior to a vacation should be sent to the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 934-7639.

Make your requests at time of booking now that HA rooms are a bookable category.  The HA rooms are located throughout the resort. Both types are available, king and two queens.

Here is a link to a publication from Passporter.com specifically addressing special needs at WDW and DCL.  Passporter - Open Mouse

Due to new federal regulations, reservations for accessible rooms have changed dramaticly this year. All those rooms are now a seperate category for booking. Features such as roll in showers, grab bars in bathrooms, equipment for hearing impairment, etc are already built into the rooms. If you want such a room, you need to reserve it ahead of time. Once those rooms are booked, there is nothing that the front desk can do. Each resort has a limited number of rooms and each is a seperate category.

Thanks for that great info Buzz - even better to see they have the H/A rooms with a king and queen
I often get an error message when I search for rooms at CSR saying they can't fit 3 in a H/A room but looks like that should be fixed now.

CSR has 224 king rooms scattered around the resort. Of those 224 king bed rooms, only 19 have ADA Bathroom/Shower.

There are also 30 tubs with handrails. These 49 rooms may have lower beds as well.
