Hi!

I am looking to stay at the CSR in Disneyworld from August 19-24....hopefully I'll get free dining! halloween

I was wondering, which rooms are the best. I would like to be close to the main building, as I am planning to have the deluxe dining package. I have seen large buildings with streams in the middle..they look nice!

Also, can you rent watercraft?

Jeff

welcome Jeff. Nice to have you here.

Look at this link for "room location" suggestions: http://coronado_springs.tripod.com/content/suggestions.htm

All insides of the rooms are the same. Each section has it's own personality and it really comes down to what you like. For the main building, I would recommend Cabanas 9A or Casitas 3 as being close and in a nice area (although all areas are nice).

The Marina is open "seasonally" -- not sure what that means these days. However, I personally would rent a watercraft at the Poly or the CR as there is more space to explore.

Thanks for the fast reply!
Is their any in-resort transportation system? Like a bus that takes you to the other side of the lake...?

Also, how long are the bus rides to each park, and when/how often do they run.

Truthfully, we've used the bus once to get to the MK in our eight stays (we rent a car and drive everywhere). No ride once you leave the resort is more than 10 minutes to any park (it took us exactly ten minutes from the last bus stop at the CSR to the MK). There are four bus stops within the resort. They are picked up in this order: Bus Stop 2, 3, 4 and then 1 before heading to the parks. As it is a convention resort, I understand the buses are often less crowded because the convention people are in meetings. They used to have an internal shuttle, but they no longer do. You can catch a bus at one stop and take it around the resort. Truthfully, we don't find the walk that long or bad at the CSR (I guess if we didn't we would not have stayed there eight times)--I've had a longer walk at the CR from my room to the pool/food at the Contemporary.

You can use the bus to get around the resort. You will find instructions at each bus stop. See photo below.

Kathy is correct. MK is the longest ride at about 10 mins and the other parks are a few minutes less.

Thanks for the picture. It makes it easier to see.
Would you happen to have pictures of Cabanas 9A or Casitas 3- they were recommended by Katmark due to their close proximity to the main building. Also: great site! And your sunset pictures are truly amazing!!!

Wow, Casita 3 looks really nice. I am waiting to hear if the free dining is going to be offered before I book. If it is, I will definitely be booking at CSR! Have you ever tried the Disney Deluxe Dining plan- thats what my family wants to get.

I've done the dining plan several times but never the deluxe. Even with the regular dining plan, it's a lot of food. Most likely, if offered, the free dining will be the regular dining plan rather than the deluxe. You should be able to choose the regular dining plan for free and then pay for the difference to upgrade to the deluxe.

We are going August 21-28 and I am on the computer daily looking for that free dining offer! I have been on several sites that say there should be no reason Disney won't offer it again this year for these dates..Fingers crossed for all of us!! Wow would that free up some cash for us!! Good Luck!!

Hopefully they will bring free dining back again! How safe if the resort? I notice it is really big, but are their any nuisances (safety wise)? I would imagine not, because when i was at the Dolphin I had a wonderful time!!!!!

I think we want to try Cabanas-like that "beach" feel..Just need to go back and see what people have said about best location at Cabanas for buses and main pool, etc..I did read a couple of reviews of cars being broken into, but believe me, I have read hundreds of reviews on CSR (I do my homework!) and that's been all I have read-I feel pretty confident in hoping that Disney does their best as far as security, etc..
