Curious, Tonichelle-would you stay again at a value? That analogy with Titanic was good...Thanks

Yes I would, but only if that was the only way I could do Disney. The last trip we planned on fully staying at teh Pop Century, but we were given some awesome deals and we made teh switch to CSR with only a few days at Pop (due to availability at CSR). Never doing that again. It'll be either all or nothing (which is why we are staying at CSR even though the only thing available was a room with a King bed - now I see suites and king rooms are available... my BFF is unwilling to try a different moderate, and does not want to do another split stay as we'd split with a value to keep the cost down)

I didn't realize that you could do a split stay, that's a new one to me..I think for us to keep at a moderate in the future is to go in value season like we are going to at end of Aug. I have read many many reviews of CSR, some great, some awful-but have heard from people I personally know that it's a great place to stay. Not to mention that they kicker for me is that they have queen beds! Especially when we are staying a week.
Thanks!

yup... most go from a value to a mod or a mod to a deluxe when they do a split stay... not teh way we did it (mod down to value)... either way, though, you can DEFINITELY feel the difference.

Okay, so I just returned from my WDW Vakay (well last night, but had to work a 14 hour day today)... I will try to do a trip report tomorrow. I was in the same predicament... had my heart dead set on CSR. The pluses truly make it worth it to me EXCEPT for if...

1. Money is the issue - On my 5 day/ 4 night trip, I saved almost $200, which covered the cost of my passes - Florida Resident Dream Passes - 4 days for 99 bucks each, and only 25 bucks more for water parks and more each... I still have one park day left to use and one water park day left to use, so I will go back once or twice more between now and May 25th when these passes expire. Also, the resort's food is relatively less expensive at POP than at the pricier resorts.

2. You're going to be in the parks all day anyway - This trip we were SO busy, I didn't swim at my resort once, nor did I eat at my resort. We were on the go every day and didn't get back to the resort til like midnight. Slept, got up and did it again. So, if your room is but a place to crash, POP is an excellent choice. I've also stayed in Movies. My POP mousekeeping was a much more positive experience this time.
On the other hand, if you will have much leisure time to spend, opting for the nicer resort may well be a worthwhile investment. surrender

Oh! p.s. They told me at check in that the 70s section at POP has just been rehabbed and has all brand new beds... so if you're going to end out at POP, you might want to request 70s. It is a Standard Room price without an adjacent pool, but nothing beats fresh bedding and paint! I don't know what else if anything is new, but fresh beds... aaaaaaaaahhhhh Sleep
