PostSubject: Our August ADR's   Fri Apr 30, 2010 2:22 pm

Here's our ADR's - as they stand today (I can't resist tweaking). We've got some family faves and tried to work in some new ones where we could!

Friday 8/20 - check in and Dinner at Whispering Canyon (we're staying at WL this year). On our first night last year - we ate at they Maya Grill. It was very relaxing to have dinner in the resort where you are staying so we thought we' try this again. We haven't done WCC in 4 years so we are excited to try it again. I don't think the kids remember it.

Sat 8/21 - dinner at Yak & Yeti. We haven't eaten here before and are very excited to try it. Anyone been here? We also haven't seen AK night. This is an EMH for AK - can't wait to see it after dark.

Sun 8/22 - Chef Mickey Breakfast - had to add this one in for my son after all the princess meals he's sat through the last few years. Then off to dinner at Marakesh. We've wanted to try this one for years but it always got replaced by something else. We love the CS at Tangerine Cafe so we're hoping this will be a good meal and great experience for us. Any been for dinner?

Mon 8/23 - O'Hana for dinner. A family favorite and we couldn't get in last year. So excited.

Tues 8/24 - Dinner at Teppan Edo. Another new one for us. We had ADR's last year with my brother and his family but DD ended up having to go to the ER so we missed this one. Not a night I want to remember so hopefully this year, everything works out better.

Weds 8/25 - Crystal Palace breakfast. Another family fave and in the MK before park opening - can't be beat. DD loves this one.

Thurs 8/26 - Dinner at Biergarten - always a fun family experience for all!

We did Yak & Yeti, Teppan Edo and Marrakesh last year, all for the first time. Yak&Yeti was good, the desserts were awesome, DH had the mango pie and I had the kabob thingees, yum, yum, yum!!!!! Marrakesh, was sort of bland, and the kids meals were horrible. Oddly enough, the service was outstanding, but the food was bland. I was expecting just really exotic, spicy...and it was pretty blah. The entertainment was also lots of fun. Teppan Edo's food was really, really good for the grown ups. The kids meal, no appie, even on the deluxe, and the kids dessert was a cup of peaches...literally, a plastic cup of peaches. We will go back, but only when DS is considered an "adult".

Kathiep, you are going the same time we are-I didn't realize that. Anyway, I was thinking oh my gosh when I read your adrs-I thought we were going to Teppan Edo on the same night, at the same time, but you are on Tues and we are on Mon! How ironic would that have been? I made our adrs on Thurs and only have one more to do---I was talked out of eating at the castle but last night I woke up in the middle of the night-no kidding here-and the only thought that I had was how we HAVE to eat there. I was going to call today and try to get in but can't do it until we officially get the free dining added, I heard if no DDP they required you to prepay. I am dying to eat there! One question though, do I have to wait until exactly 3 mos before, or can I do it now?

I don't think they actually charge your card, they just take a credit card guarantee. They disn't charge our card, but we do have the Dining Plan...can't wait for that big fat credit on Monday!!!!!

Hi,

Your ADRs look good. I haven only eaten at Biergarten. We are trying some new ones also this year and a few favs. We are going 9/6-9/12. We have new ones: LeCellier, 1900 Park Fare, Chefs De France, Kona, and Maya Grill. Favorites returning to Biergarten, Akershus breakfast and Tusker House. Can't wait. I have only tweaked my ADR's 3 times now I am done. I hope you enjoy everything.
Very Happy

Wonder what my chances of booking the castle for lunch in August when we're there? I just decided that even though the kids could care less about a character meal, how can we leave Disney and not eat there?? Plus another reason for lunch is that there are chix strips on the menu for my extremely picky DS..I will call tomorrow and see what's going on with eating there..Has anyone ever eaten there for lunch? What is it like? What characters would we see?

We've had both dinner and breakfast at the Castle - not lunch. I am pretty sure lunch runs the same as breakfast; they rotate princess through as you eat but no character is guaranteed to appear. Normally, you meet Cinderella downstairs for your photo opportunity. Then, during breakfast, we saw Belle, Aurora, Jasmine and Mulan. Aside from the meal or the characters, I think that being in the Castle is something everyone should experience at least once. I'd try for your reservations and if you don't get something right away, keep trying. Remember that packages need to be paid in full 45 days prior so once you hit that point prior to your trip, there might be some people who can't pay off their reservation and end up cancelling the trip.

Love your line up with the exception of your first meal (sorry, we thought it was disgusting and the meat made my husband ill for the next 36 hours or so). We loved Yak & Yeti and are sorry we can't fit it in when we go in September.

I would love some input on our ADRs....Just had to cancel one today-I realized that I booked two dinners on the same night! Bummer.
Here they are as of right now:
We arrive on August 21 but nothing reserved for that day yet
August 22 Lunch at Le Celliers
August 23 Dinner at Teppan Edo
August 24 Lunch at Cindy's Castle ( so excited about this one!)
August 25 Lunch at Rainforest Cafe AK
August 25 Dinner at Coral Reef
August 26 Lunch at Sci Fi
August 27 Dinner at Liberty Tree

I guess I will not book anything for the 21st because we will have to use 2 table credits for the castle. I also noticed that we have no breakfast reservations, but then again, my DS will eat very little of anything for breakfast. We are already having issues with him not eating anything at a lot of these places unless I can talk them into making some chix strips! Tusker Haus was the one that I had to cancel. I had it along with Coral Reef and I thought CR would be so neat for the kids...

Stop by Cafe Rix in the morning for some huge danishes or muffins! Le Cellier is my all time favorite! Sci Fi is a great place for the atmosphere and burgers.

I'm getting hungry!

We always pack a bunch of granola bars to keep in the room for breakfast. We also seem to pick up some fruit along the way; either accidentally if it comes with something we order or as a snack. Then we use it for breakfast when we don't have reservations.
