PostSubject: Decisions, decisions   Fri Apr 30, 2010 2:43 pm

I can't believe what I just realized about our August trip. Our trip has been booked since last August. We are checking in on 8/20; checking out on 8/27. Now keep in mind that I am an obsessive planner and tweaker so our final vacation plans go through a number of revisions before the final product is accepted. I know the exact dates went through several changes this year.

We usually drive from Central NJ to Fla. This year, to switch things up a little bit we thought we'd give Amtrak a try. We decided it would be very exciting for our kids and when we crunched all the numbers, it came up almost even. So we are all a bit excited about this change to our routine.

I booked the Amtrak tickets a couple of weeks back but I never double checked our dates pale I just booked the train tickets. Something just made me go look at them. We are departing here in NJ on 8/19 which has us arrive in the am on 8/20. Perfect!

But we are checking out on Friday 8/27. My brilliant plan was to take as late a train as possible on the return trip so I schedule a 6:30 pm departure time. I figured we could put the morning time to good use. The only thing is....I just noticed that the return tickets are for Saturday 8/28!! affraid I don't know if I screwed it up or the travel agent. (He already made a mistake with the rental car reservations so I wouldn't put it past him.)

So what do I do now? Do I extend our trip for one night? Very Happy
Do I correct the train tickets?
Do I consider leaving Disney on Friday and staying offsite for Friday night?

I am now completely confused over a trip I thought was set and done!! Help!!!!

Shoot for the whole ball of wax. If you have the $$ stay an extra night. Less stress coming home on the weekend anyway. If you have a rental car then you could probably stay cheap at a Holiday Inn off site. Its vacation don't stress and enjoy yourself fellow Jerseyan!!!!

Second the idea of staying another night. On property if you can afford it, in the Notell Motel otherwise.

Actually, yes, we did just get Eagles tickets, we are seeing them in Philadelphia at Citizen's Bank Park. Keith Urban and the Dixie Chicks are opening for them. This will actually be the third time I have attended an Eagles concert...saw them twice for the Hell Freezes Over Tour in the 90's. I have also seen Don Henley solo three times.
The concert is June 14th, and is DH's anniversary present to me, as well as an attempt to make up for not going to see Kenny Chesney with me last year, ON our wedding anniversary. He also bought me those tickets, and told me "The tickets are my anniversary present to you....your present to me is going with someone else".

Ok are they on tour?? I had not heard that. Now I need to go and check online to see where they are touring and if they are coming to NC...You will have to tell me how it is! When and where are you seeing them? You have no idea how much I love them..

Perhaps the so called "mistake" was subconciously intentional to get to stay an extra day?!?!? LOL!

Ok, so yesterday I called an extended our trip for the extra day. I really wanted to still check out on Friday and move to CSR (get my fix in), spend the entire day at the resort and relax before leaving on Saturday but DH didn't want to go through the trouble of switching for one day. All in all, he's probably right.

Now I am so excited trying to plan one more day of dining! We have an extra table service to plan now for Friday night and quite possibly a nice breakfast before leaving on Saturday. What a happy little surprise when normally, at this point, the countdown to vacation seems to drag at an impossibly slow pace.
