Is this still a good idea? It worked for us in 08 when we faxed a request for 9b and got a room in 9b.

So should I do this and if so who knows the fax number?

Yes, according to John, it still okay to fax at CSR. 1-407-939-1001...is it scary that I know the number by heart?

One question about room requests..don't you encourage 4 days before? Also, we want to be close to big pool and El Centro-isn't Cabanas 8A a good one for that?? Also want to be close to a bus stop. Can we have all of that or is that just way to impossible?? Thanks.

Yes, its a good idea to send it in 4 days prior to arrival. Just remember that it is still just a request, no guarantees can be made.

I probably know the WDW numbers better than some relatives numbers. Very Happy

The CSR Forum is growing rapidly with many that contribute daily. Its taking on a life of its own. Much more than I ever expected. There are lots of CSR lovers out there.

it makes you wonder where the CSR fans are on the other boards, it gets panned so often and that makes me sad.

though the less people that go to the resort, the more room there is for ME when I go

I think it depends on what you want and expect. CSR suits us, but it doesn't suit everbody. Guess that's why there are so many hotels at WDW Smile

I agree, CSR does seem to get panned more than the other hotels, but hey, if you don't like the nice comfy queen size mattress for the price of full, I will gladly take it!

I've never understood it either. It just doesn't get as much buzz as the other resorts yet IMHO, it is by far the best moderate. It's absolutely gorgeous. I've seen people claim they don't think it's family friendly but I couldn't disagree more and the only mod I have not stayed at is POFQ. I would think the small, intimate size of POFQ would be much less kid friendly. And the conventioners, have never bothered me in the least.

My first time at CSR was a family vacation. there were six of us, we got three rooms (parents had their own room, aunt and cousin had a room, and I roomed with my 11 year old brother). My parents and brother just got back a few months ago from All Star... my brother - aka the 'kid' - stated that he was incredibly disappointed with All Star Music as it was 'boring' and there wasn't much 'magic' and he really wished they'd gotten to stay at CSR.

we're talking about a family vacay for 2013 when my brother graduates high school and so far CSR is the only resort we're seriously looking at (though dad still would like to try Port Orleans)

We stayed at Carribean beach resort on our first trip in 2005. We really enjoyed ourselves and loved the resort. when we planned a return trip in 2007, I was all for a return to CBR. My wife wanted to try something new, and my son lked the idea of the slide at the dig site pool so we gave CSR a try

We were all really glad we did. We will be making our fourth trip to the world and our third trip to CSR this july we absoulutely love the place and have never felt the need to try somthing else new. Im sure the resorts are all wonderful and i think we would enjoy ourselves at all of them, but WE LOVE CSR

I have never understood it either. We have only stayed at CSR (soon to be for the ninth time), but we have visited each of the moderates numerous times. I love the POR's food court, but hated Boatwright's; and it was just so crowded and loud in that area with people coming in from the pool to go to the food court and the loudness from the bar area. We always liked the looks of the POFQ and have enjoyed the food court, but the hot tub is so tiny and there are no quiet pools. Then there is the CBR. It just does nothing for us. I'm not sure if it is because we go to the beach either before or after almost every Disney vacation, but the theme just doesn't appeal to us. And while the new pool is great, it is also VERY crowded because it is aimed at small kids (our oldest son was there in July with a bunch of 13 year old boys for a baseball tournament, and they ended up either using the quiet pool or going to the water park because there were just so many little ones and they were afraid they would hurt them or step on them or something). And then there is the CSR -- queen beds, largest hot tub of all the moderates, a great new grab and go, the PM where we have never had a bad meal, a good sit down restaurant, a pool bar that serve food, fitness center/spa, etc. It truly is "deluxe lite" in my opinion.

But like someone else said, not everyone likes the same thing and has different expectations. All I can say, is let them go somewhere else...I was able to get in for free dining in September whereas if it got too popular I might not have been able to.
