PostSubject: worried about resort being too full   Sat Jun 05, 2010 3:10 am

I am due to be staying at the csr resort from 20 - 30th September 2010 and I notice that for a little while now non of our tour operaters or even disney itself is offering the csr resort as an option for booking during those dates.

I dont suppose anyone knows if there is a reason for this. I am just a little bit worried that it might be overflowing with people. I know there is an event taking place ' The asbo' conferance but this is not on for the whole time we are there.

thank you and I am sure I am worrying over nothing.

There may be a convention going on in Sept. and its a good time for regular guests to go because school is back in session and the codes and free dining are being offered until 10/2/2010. A good size convention will help keep the buses and pools less crowded which I find to be a benefit of CSR.

I wouldn't worry because even when CSR is sold out, it always feels/seems empty because it is a large resort.

Buzz, when reading reviews on CSR this is always where people say they hate it because of conventions, but I never looked at it in this way about most of the business people are staying put-By the way Buzz, do you have a current list of coventions going on there coming up?

I have to say i am more worried about it being full of holiday makers than people at a convention, from what I have read people at conventions spend most of their time at the convention, so not on the buses or round the pools during the day meaning it will be easier to get around and quieter

I highly doubt CSR will EVER be full of true vacationers because of the unfair reviews it typically gets due to the 'horrible' convention groups that 'ruin the magic'

Shhh...let's keep that our little secret!!!! To the OP, we were there last year, for Labor Day, and will be at CSR again for Labor Day (oops, forgot you are from the UK. 9/3/10 thru 9/12/10) and the only spot that was crowded, ever, was the bar. And while DH got an eye full of some really really short skirts, that was the only problem we had. We did not stand on one bus, had no problems at the pool, and had awesome service.

thank you everyone for your comments, my husband will be more than happy to look at the ladies in short skirts and as neither of us drink a queue for the bar wont be an issue either.

The list is located on the website here. http://coronado_springs.tripod.com/content/list.htm

It's not a complete list but its the ones I could find on the web. It would seem to me that CSR has a convention on most days of the year other than around Thanksgiving and the last two weeks of Deccember.

Is it a booking for free dining? Because my understanding is that the only resort that still has availabilty for free dining is the CBR and maybe the POFQ? There are still rooms available at CSR, just "not rooms with free dining."

We've been there for a group that Glenn is a member of. Sharon gets to tour while he's working, then we get the evening to play. We never saw anyone ruin the magic. That's why we're going for our anniverary!

um, that's why I had those words in quotations. I see the reviews all the time that say that and I can really only think of one time where it was an issue. At the Pepper Market a group of conventioners got into a brawl that brought in security. I don't know if it was the heat, something about the convention, or if they'd had a few, but it was pretty scary for a few seconds.

that didn't ruin the magic or give me a sour taste for CSR in the slightest, however because security was all over it.

PostSubject: Conventions and ruined magic   Mon Jun 21, 2010 2:52 pm

Most of the conventions want to keep the magic as much as our leisure guests. Unfortunately, there have been a couple that have upset the balance. These conventions are usually asked not to return.

When you check in, it is always fair to ask if there is a convention in house that might interfere with your pleasure. If there is, we will try to find another place for you, or at least move you to a quiet part of the resort.

Spring is the time for most youth sports competitions and graduation parties at WDW......hint, hint!
