Although all of our ADR's have been done for a while, I think I will add a character breakfast. We are going last week of August. What do all of you think---Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's?? That is, even if I can even get an ADR at this point for either of them! Thanks! :flower:

We've done both and are extremely partial to Crystal Palace. We love getting into the prior to opening. There is something so magical when the park is almost empty. We also think the buffet selection is better at Crystal Palace. It's a beautiful restaurant and a great way to start a magical day!

Ok, change of plans here---I called WDW Dining and there was nothing available at either restaurant for the day we wanted. We ended up with breakfast at Ohana's. The shocking thing to me was that she called out the restaurants that were available for breakfast that day and CRT was open! Would have loved that, but it takes 2 dining credits and we are already over by booking this..Have you ever been to breakfast at Ohana's? It may have worked out for the best-when I told the kids it was with Lilo and Stitch they were really excited. Let me know your thoughts on Ohana's.... Wink

I've got ressies in both of these and Donalds safari... I love buffet breakfasts while on holiday and aim to fill up for the day.

I cancelled most of my other sit down bookings except Planet Hollywood (I finally got in when i wanted) and Coral Reef at Epcot. Mainly to keep costs down.

Theres only 50days for me now

I've never done breakfast at O'Hana. The one year we had reservations....I could tell there was no way I was getting my little ones up. It happened to be towards the end of our trip and they really needed to sleep in. I think they slept until 10:30 that day....never before, never again. But I 've always heard really good things about the breakfast there.

Oh how things have changed! I was on the phone all day yesterday. Decided against Ohana-I have one really picky eater. I ended up getting Crystal Palace squeezed in, but had to cancel Coral Reef in the meantime to accomodate CP. So all in all we have: Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, Sci Fi, Prime Time, CRT (9:30 at night!). I think we have a great week in eating, honestly I had better go on a severe diet to get ready for all of this!!

CP is our favorite breakfast in the World...yummy, yummy, yummy puffed French Toast...to die for. We are also doing Le Cellier...I am so torn on what to order. I ADORE NY Strip, it is my favorite cut, but I hear that the mushroom filet is "the" thing to order, especially if you have free dining. Anyone?

AJ's-we actually leave this Sat! Going to be there 8/21-28..Cannot wait to eat at Le Celliers, I'll definitely let you know how it is! My friend went to California Grill just last week and although really loved the restaurant as far as view, etc-wasn't that crazy about the food. I think it's the first I have heard of anyone not being crazy about the food there! I think she said they had the new york strip..???

Ok, I'll say it - I didn't like the California Grill at all... I mean, the food was good, but nothing to rave about, and the view was amazing, but it wasn't a "signature" experience to me - maybe I got a bad server (she barely came to our table, was very slow, and couldn't understand that we wanted to get our desserts after seeing the fireworks from the balcony - she actually was very confused about this) but it also seemed like every other table around us was treating it like it was a counter service joint. We got all dressed up, brought really nice out fits specifically for it - and there was a table of 20 behind us wearing shorts and tee shirts and kids were running around. On the other side, a bored teenager was making water glass chimes. I din't expect a straight-laced formal experience, but I did expect something better, considering the cost of the place...

You would definitely think the dress code would be a little less relaxed there-but my friend wore shorts and a tank top I think! I think I have heard that there are approximately around2-3 restaurants at Disney that have a stricter dress code. I think in her mind, it would just be a little "more" than what they ended up with. Personally, I would never get my DH in a restaurant with a strict dress code, but I don't have a problem with it myself. I am surprised though that with the prices of their menu that it's like that!

We are really, really looking forward to California Grill...I hope I haven't over-hyped it in my own mind....I guess I will just cross my fingers and hope we get an AWESOME view...if the view is to die for, I won't care what I am eating.

Don't get me wrong, the food was excellent - and the view was to die for!

It was just that we were under the impression it would be a more upscale experience than what we had... maybe if we had expected something different, then we would have had a much better time.
