PostSubject: SeaRaycer Rental   Tue Sep 07, 2010 8:12 pm

So, i'm getting my son pumped up for the speedboats, however, I noticed the marina is seasonally open. I'm going to be there on September 28th - October 2nd, do you think we'll be able to rent them? Also, how far can we go? Just the CSR lake or are there connecting channels, etc?

Thanks again.

There really isn't any rhyme or reason on when the marina is open. Maybe Kathy can find out when she gets there in 10 days. If you son is young, the CSR lake is decent. It doesn't connect to anything. If he is older, you may want to go to the Cont and rent a boat there because you can go so much further.

Hi, guys. I am planning, as of now, to take my laptop with me. I will try to find out if the marina will be open during the time you are inquiring about. As Buzz suggested, if your son is older and you want more space, I would definitely go over to the Contemporary or the Polynesian and rent a boat there...there is so much more space and things to see.

Per John...

At this point, the Marina will only open for the holiday season (x-mas). We are directing guests to Poly, WL, CR, BW, or YBC depending on whether they want boats or bikes. Not enough business to sustain the cost, I guess.

We rented SeaRaycers at the CBR when we were there Xmas 2008. The day we did we were the only people on the lake other than the staff patrol boats. It was a beautiful 85F sunny day as well, so I can see it not being a profitable venture. I think at a place like the CBR has to provide that service whether its profiable or not. The CSR can probably get away with just the holiday season's when the place has more Disney visitor's than conventioniers. Sounds like the Marina will be open when we are there, so that's great! My son would be disappointed if it wasn't.

Aww Buzz, you just gave me a buzz kill! No biggie though - I'm sure we'll find something else to do.

Also, I didn't realize someone can use other resorts stuff - I thought it was exclusive for guests.

But the bigger question is: Who is John? Reminds me of Jacob from Lost. Haha.

John is our resident CM. He works at concierge (across from check-in) at CSR. Look him up when you get there and tell him Buzz sent you. He is one of CSR's finest CM's!!

One last question regarding the searaycers. Since i'm going to be eating breakfast at Poly, can I rent one from them? Is that allowed? I mean, to rent one at another resort other than the one you're staying at?

thank you

Yes, you can rent SeaRaycers at the other resorts. It will be a larger lake too.
