PostSubject: CSR or Dolphin   Sun Sep 12, 2010 12:25 pm

Hello!
I am traveling alone in October and have a reservation at CSR. I will be spending most of my time at Epcot for the Wine Festival! After reading reviews on other sites, there are many complaints about "dirty" rooms at CSR. For a little more money I can stay at the Dolphin (the Disney Deluxe resorts are almost double), does anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks in advance for your help!
Marsha

You always have to be careful what you read. If you look long enough, you can find negative comments about anywhere - even the Dolphin if you look long enough. We've never had a problem with dirty rooms at CSR. The rooms were all recently updated and have always been perfectly clean when we arrived. We've never had to complain about housekeeping during our stays. Prior to our last visit, I noticed a pattern of complaints about the very building I was requesting for a room location. But I kept an open mind and loved where we were. CSR if our favorite so we'd always choose it hands down over any other resort. But if the money is something that you can afford, I understand it would be more convenient to be at the Dolphin if you are spending the majority of your time at Epcot. In my opinion, that's a valid reason to change. Don't make a change based solely on some bad reviews you've read.

You will read more "bad" reviews than you will good. I think people like to point out the negative over the positive. scratch

In our eight stays at the CSR, we have NEVER had a dirty room. I do know that there were a lot of layoffs with housekeeping and they have a lot of rooms to turnover and clean on a daily basis. This is not an excuse, but when you have less workers it is going to have an effect.

We've never stayed at the Dolphin. People complain often that the CSR lacks a "Disney" feel; this is the way I've always felt about the Dolphin and Swan. We visited when they first opened and I just found them very sterile. However, their location for Epcot can't be beat so it really is up to you.

I just had to put my opinion in here too!! I want you to know that for months before our vacation (we were there 3 weeks ago) all I did was read reviews. We had never been to Disney before, so I wanted everything to go perfectly-or at least as close to perfect as I could make it for us. Anyway, all I read were horrible reviews of CSR, over and over and over. My DH finally told me to stop reading them because I started second guessing everything at that point. When we were there 3 weeks ago the place was gorgeous! The grounds were spotless and our room was sparkling clean every day that we returned from the parks! There is never a guarantee on anything, but I would be shocked if you were unhappy with the cleanliness-and trust me, I can be pretty particular about cleanliness, especially in a hotel! I just wrote a review on CSR yesterday on tripadvisor that should be showing in a few days, mine was only one of a few positive reviews and it shocked me....In the end, I hope wherever you stay is where you are meant to be and that you have a wonderful time!

welcome to the CSR Forum Marsha!

I hope you have a great trip! In my 12 stays, I've never had any problems with the resort or mousekeeping.

theming wise CSR beats the Dolphin by leaps and bounds. Walked through that resort on my last trip and not only is the outside UG-LY but the inside is totally typical hotel and not disney-esque at all (to me).

And as others have said - typically more negative that positive reviews get posted. And all of the resorts get their detractors.
