Old Rehab Info

Has the rumored change in the preferred rooms to a rain shower been delayed? We are booked in a preferred room for Oct 26- Nov 7 and we really, really dont want to be without a bathtub. Trying to wade through the rumors and facts to figure out if we should call and see about a switch.

The rehab is not scheduled to begin until January 2015 and will start in the cabanas.

Buzz, any idea when the whole refurb is expected to wrap up?

The water heater is going on as we speak and will go through year end. The room rehab doesn't start until Jan 2015 and will probably take 15-18 months, one building at a time

Has the schedule changed? When I first booked CSR for our end of January trip, I was told there were no business class rooms available and assumed it was because of the refurb so I booked preferred rooms. Today, however, I was able to switch my reservations over to business class rooms as they were showing up in inventory which left me wondering.

No one knows for sure where the rehab will begin. Maybe now it is not going to start with cabana 9b.

Did this actually commence? Also, is CSR getting the new laundry set-up?

There are three rooms undergoing refurbishment but I do not know what stage they are in. Those three rooms have been taken out of inventory.

Apple Pay started the week of 3/15

Direct to room check-in started on 3/10

New washer/dryers started being installed on on 3/11. They will text you when complete.

Hey Buzz, we are checking in on April 3rd, 2 business class rooms. Any referbs, updates, or changes going on, in either business class or throughout the resort that we should be aware of? Its our first time back to CSR since spring 2013, and our first stay in business class. If faxing in my request for ground floor adjoining or connecting rooms on the 25th, what do you think my chances will be of getting my requests? Also, we are staying using a friends and family employee discount, how many days before check in is our sponsor employee supposed to show her I.D. at the resort to confirm her employment statis? BTW, you may know me better as Doug LaFond from Tammy's FB sites.

Hey Doug! I didn't know you were a forum member.  Glad to have you on board.

I don't believe there are any major rehabs/updates going on for your dates. The resort is/was painting all the doors of the rooms but I don't know how far along they are or if they are complete. They are also changing all the washers/dryers. Sent me some pics for the website if you can please.

The next big thing is in May - La Vida Health Club and Beauty Salon closed 5/18/2015 - 6/19/2015

Let me ask about the friend/family discount question.

Your friend/family member can do it as early as they want, as long as the reservation is booked.

Temporary fitness center is up and running in the convention center. It is open 24 hrs a day and a CM will be there until 4:30pm. And again, check with the concierge desk to make sure it is open each day.
