| Just read this. Not too happy about them changing the nice atmosphere of csr. Why do they feel the need to add high rise buildings to all resorts lately? If I wanted a high rise hotel I would stay at bay lake towers! I don't think this will be a good thing, just my opinion. Where are they even going to put this high rise? Where the cabanas are? | |

| I have mixed emotions about this. CSR has always been our "home" resort and we love that it had that intimate feel to it. While this will certainly be an impressive upgrade in the end and will no doubt look amazing, I think you're going to see that this complete reimagining of the resort will also transform it from a moderate to a deluxe, which for some of us means the end of staying there (at least until the little ones are grown up and no longer coming along). Time to expand the horizons and try some other resorts (that's not necessarily a bad thing). | |

| Hello there. Hope you don't mind me starting membership of the board with a few questions....
We are coming over from the UK in August and for most of our stay we are due to be staying at CSR. It is our fifth time over and our fourth on Disney property ('11 Pop C, '13 SSR, '15 All Star Music)
I'll be honest, I am now anticipating the resort to be in a bit of a mess by then, how bad might it get?
Will all the room refurbs be done by August, do people think?
We are realistic people and if Disney can keep the restauants, pools and other amenities open, and the noise down between 5pm and 9am, we will not mind too much.
We had logged a preference for 9B, that is now gone and I suppose the fear is that has to have the knock on effect of everyone having a worse choice. If I thought we would end up in the Ranchos I think we would want to move to a different resort. We got pretty lucky with our room at SSR but that's another big place and we could see that lots of long treks just to go eat or fill up the resort mugs would not be for us. Looking at the layout of the proposed works, too, you could get 9A and think, oh well, we got the next best thing, but find the path past 9B blocked by the works and have to walk right the way round....
Sorry. This must look like a very downbeat post. Any reassurance that can be offered will be gratefully received.
PS: Why can I not make a booking now at CSR, for any date whatsoever in the future? Might it even shut completely for a time?

| to the CSR Forum! I made a CSR reservation last week for October. The resort will not shut down because not only all the guest reservations but conventions as well. Any of the cabanas will work out great. Even rancho 7b is a fantastic choice. The work being done for the new project is all to one side of the resort (see red circle to the right). Or maybe they create the new bridge across the lake before major work to the 9b area. Its just too early to tell at this point. They have begun but this is a two year project so by August, you made not even notice anything going on. You can also get refills pool side. This is 9b now. | |

Sad thing is though, there are very few moderates now. Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach are it. They really need to make more moderate resorts. Changing so much into deluxe really alienates a lot of travellers who do not want to stay at value resorts. I hope they keep CSR a moderate and not raise prices so much that we can no longer enjoy our favorite resort.

| Email I just received today for info:
Dear Guest,
We are delighted you have chosen to stay with us at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort!
Here at Walt Disney World Resort, we are always looking to deliver more unforgettable experiences and magic to our guests.
Over the next two years, the Convention Center, Guest rooms and surrounding areas will be undergoing a refurbishment. New distinct touches and a new colour palette will be introduced to the Guest rooms and across the resort to help tell the story of the great Francisco de Coronado, and to reflect the vibrant spirit of adventure that lived within the Spanish explorers. In addition to the existing Guest rooms being refurbished, the transformation will also include the addition of a 15 storey tower, adding additional services, such as Club Level and Concierge, and a rooftop restaurant and bar, allowing spectacular views of the night time firework displays.
We have a long tradition of enhancing our resorts while also maintaining the magic of the Disney experience, as we have with Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Rest assured, while we are working our magic across Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, we are making every effort to ensure our guests experience the comfort and enjoyment of all we have to offer. The renovation will be taking place in blocks, therefore Guest impact will be kept to an absolute minimum, however there may be some noise between the hours of 9:00am – 17:00 pm and we may have alternate paths of travel throughout the resort. We have been advised that guests will not be situated near the work area and we anticipate that all Dining Options and Resort Amenities will be available to guests throughout this time.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you during your stay and appreciate your patience and understanding. We are confident that the work taking place will have little or no impact on the enjoyment of your stay. If you need assistance with your reservation please call our Disney Experts on 0800 169 0730 where we will be waiting and very happy to help.
We eagerly await your arrival and wish you a truly magical stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
Magical Regards,
Guest Care
I really don't know what to do.

| I would request a new rancho room or casita to be safe. If you don't like the noise, you can always asked to be move. They will be accommodating. | |

| Hi we have always been a fan of CSR stayed here twice. The Dig Site and the atmosphere really are awesome. I was wondering with the new tower in are they going to add any additional amenities? I can't wait to see how it turns out. | |

| No new pool has been announced. A new restaurant will be built in the middle of the lake with three new over the water bridges leading to it. | |
